IMAGE PROCESSING TOOLKIT/SDK- IMAGE COMPRESSION TOOLKIT
Image Processing
Looking beyond transformation, on a much broader scale an imaging SDK should enable software developers to
apply feature such as image compression, enhancement,
filtering, distortion, geometric
transformation, color conversion and editing to their applications.
Since the source of an image is often out of a user's direct control, an imaging application needs to provide the functions necessary to ensure that images ultimately meet the requirements and conditions in which they will be utilized.
These functions are provided by the image processing components found in the SDK and should include:
- Region of Interest (ROI) Support
- Support of all industry-standard compression algorithms
- Automatic detection and correction of white text blocks, inverted images, rotated images and removal of unnecessary borders
- Transition functions for migrating from one image to another in an interesting way (i.e.
wipes)
- The ability to access individual pixels, or pixels arranged in rows, columns or rectangular groupings
- Multimedia support
- Special
effects (i.e. twist, blur, spotlight, etc.)
- Image rotation/warping
- Edge
detection
- Morphing
- Image inverting
