Gamma correction (imaging)A non-linear function that is used to correct the inherent non-linearities
of cameras and monitors.
The intensity of the luminescent phosphor on the raster display is
non-linear.
Gamma correction is an adjustment to the pixel intensity values that make
up for this inherent non-linearity.
