IMAGING GLOSSARY
Bounding rectangle (geometry)The smallest rectangle that completely
encloses all the pixels that are not fully transparent. Often used in fill
algorithms in which tests are made to find out which pixels are inside and
which are outside a polygon.
In imaging, the rectangle is usually rotationally restricted to be
parallel to both image axes.
