IMAGING GLOSSARYCartesian coordinates (imaging)
A 2-dimensional equally spaced grid iron that uniquely assigns every point
in the plane, (one and only one), co-ordinate pair; (x, y).
In imaging, each point is usually referred to as a pixel and the x and y
values take on integer values. Most images use the top-left as the (0,0), or
origin.
